One week before every membership meeting, the union holds a lottery drawing for three (3) members whose scheduled work hours overlap with the meeting time to attend on union time LWOP and have their hours reimbursed by the union.

How does it work?

Submit your name via email to the union secretary by 12:00pm on the Thursday one week before the meeting you wish to attend. If three or fewer members put in for the lottery, they are automatically awarded the three reimbursement spots. If more than three members submit themselves for the lottery, a drawing is held the same day as the deadline and results will be posted by 3:00pm in the union office. If you are unable to get to the union office, please say so in your email so we can inform you if your name is drawn.

What do I do?

If you are selected for the lottery, submit a 3971 for LWOP union time to your supervisor – ask your steward for help with this if you need it. Once your LWOP is in the system, you MUST attend the meeting to get your hours reimbursed. After the meeting, bring a copy of your clock rings from TACS or from Virtual Timecard on LiteBlue to the union office for verification of your lost time, and the union will send you a check for the amount of pay you would have received working those hours.
